Kimberly Baerg
Kimberly Baerg is a former Southern Minnesota resident who who currently lives on the north shore of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota.
From Kimberly…
The surrounding wildlife and landscape inspire me greatly. I use paint and brush to record my observations of this majestic world around me into vibrant acrylic works that highlight the intricate details of each landscape and unique spirit of each animal. By focusing on the eyes of living creatures I hope to create an immediate and compelling link. Although I tend to ground my art in realism, I infuse each piece with my own joy, sometimes adding a piece of clothing or other item to give the painting more narrative. My dedication to capturing the essence of the wild through my art aims to inspire a deeper, more joyful appreciation for the magnificent creatures with whom we share our environment.

Liz draper
Upright bassist Liz Draper has played with everyone from indie pioneers Low, to the legendary songwriter Iris DeMent and the Granny-winning Okee Dokee Brothers, having over two decades of international touring under her belt. Aside from being an in-demand sidewoman, Liz has gained a name for herself as a composer, ensemble leader, soloist and curator. She attended Brooklyn's School for Improvisational Music in 2003 and was one of seven Giant Steps Music Action Women international fellows in 2019. Draper is a 2021 American Composers Forum awardee for her solo work. Draper released her anticipated debut solo album Meno at the end of 2025 on Liatris Records. Dark, murky, and heartbreaking, Meno fits squarely in the genre of “classicaldoomfolkjazz.” Meno has been well received, including making UNCUT Magazine's Highest Rated Albums list of 2025. Draper moved back to the Minnesota River Valley in 2020 where she currently teaches, curates a monthly concert listening series, and is proud to call "home." ---- If I were awarded the TRCA Best in Art grant, I would use the funds to build a website and create a music video. This would allow me to have a stronger online presence, reach a wider audience and enable a sustainable career by increasing commissions and performance offers.
