MEET OUR PRESENTING ARTISTS
Rebekah Ebel - painter
I often find myself daydreaming about how I would mix colors to achieve what I see in my travels. My subjects include landscapes, characterized animals, abstracts, and scenes of familial connection, inspired by an exploration of new and exciting landscapes, people, and colors across the country. In my art, I explore themes of love, as well as themes of nature, community, communication, loneliness, and nostalgia. I hope my art can form a connection between myself and my community while representing my experiences. If selected, I would apply the grant towards larger canvases, a sturdy easel to support larger canvases, studio lighting, and a stool. My current resources are more suitable for smaller canvases.
Aaaron Geringer - ceramist
Since I began working with ceramics in 2023, my practice has evolved from technical experimentation to a distinct creative voice--which is something I previously wouldn't have guessed I would have achieved in my lifetime. As I transition into parenthood, establishing a home studio is a logistical necessity to maintain this artistic momentum and ensure a consistent practice. Funding from this program would provide the resources to build this dedicated workspace, while the program’s exhibition opportunities would allow me to build on my recent goal of expanding my public reach.
I am a mental health therapist and ceramicist based in St. Peter, Minnesota. My work is divided between wheel-thrown vessels, where I focus on a diversity of form, and botanical printmaking. For the latter, I utilize specimens from my garden and neighborhood to study organic compositions and the medium’s ability to capture intricate textures. Grant funding from this program would support the construction of a home studio, providing a dedicated space to sustain my practice as I transition into parenthood
Jerad Harder - painter
My name is Jerad Harder. I am a Physical Education teacher in a small Catholic school in Le Sueur. I had an idea, about 6 years ago, that I wanted to give the graduating 5th grade students at my school a "yearbook" of sorts. I decided to paint crosses for each student on a small canvas that they could have their classmates sign. The first year was very basic with just solid colors. The following years, students gave me either colors or ideas of what they wanted inside their cross. I had painted before, but not like this. Over the years the paintings have become something I never imagined. If I won the grant, the money would be used to help build a place for creating more paintings and also for materials for future 5th grade classes. The money comes out of my pocket to give the students something they'll hopefully never forget.
